What is the immune system?

The Immunesystem consists of specialized cells in the blood and tissue, organs and a vascular system. Its task is to protect the body from harmful influences. In addition, the immune system monitors the body's own cells in order to detect degeneration at an early stage and thus prevent the development of cancer.

Invading pathogens are called antigens, which trigger a defense reaction in which antibodies are formed. Antibodies are formed by the immune system and repel pathogens and foreign substances.

A distinction is made between nonspecific and specific defense. The non-specific defense is already formed before birth and is therefore genetically determined. This innate immune system reacts quickly and in the same way to all pathogens, which is why it is also non-specific. If the non-specific immune system does not succeed in destroying the pathogen, the specific system takes over. The specific defense is only effective against a specific antigen or invader, thus sensitization is necessary beforehand. It then specifically targets the pathogen and, after the first contact, is able to remember this pathogen and, in case of renewed contact, is able to fight it more quickly.

Our 6 tips to strengthen your immune system

Your immune system is a complex network that runs through our entire body and organism. If pathogens manage to overcome our natural barriers and invade our body, specialized defense cells get in the way and fight them. We have a few tips on how you can support your immune system!

1. soak up the sun

Vitamin D is produced by the body itself with the help of sunlight. For this, however, you should be outdoors, as the UV-B components in the sunlight cannot penetrate through the glass in the window panes. Vitamin D promotes muscle and bone growth, which store various minerals that are absolutely necessary for many cell functions. Especially the white blood cells are essential for the defense against infections.

2. moderate, physical exercise

Every step makes you fit! Moderate physical activity produces acute Anti-Stressbut which is less harmful and even beneficial. In fact, regular moderate exercise has been shown to reduce the risk of cancer and also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. In extreme conditions we become more susceptible to infectious diseases, which is why we should refrain from exercise when we have a fever or cough!

Whether acute infection, whether regeneration after survived illness or for the regular strengthening of the Immune systemThe spray is individually adapted to you and your situation.

4. combat chronic stress

Stress in itself is a normal process. Chronic stress, however, can put a strain on health in the long term & then smaller and smaller stimuli are enough to trigger a renewed stress reaction. Both acute and chronic stress situations increase energy expenditure, which further weakens the immune system. Find a method that suits you to actively fight stress.

5. good quality sleep

When sleeping, one normally spares the energy output, because there the muscles are relaxed and the brain works at a somewhat lower level. However, chronic insomnia leads to increased energy output. But: Without energy no defense against infections!

6. take enough energy

No defense against infections without energy! We need energy so that the immune system can function at all. We take in nutrients through our food, which are then converted into energy in various steps. Therefore, try to eat a balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables.

The importance of a strong and healthy immune system cannot be overstated - it is essential in protecting you from germs, viruses, allergens and other invaders that can make you sick. By eating a nutritious diet, exercising regularly, controlling your stress levels, getting enough sleep each night, and taking steps to reduce exposure to environmental toxins, you can ensure that your immune system stays strong so it can do its job properly. Taking good care of yourself is one of the best things you can do for your health!
